Girls Day Outings during the 2009 summer holidays

IWWA brought 2009 to an unforgettable end with its exciting outings. Unless you were there, you missed out on the great value that the activities were offered at.

The first outing was the Taronga Zoo trip. A bus full of enthusiastic parents, kids and teens left IWWA on the 29th of December for the zoo. So many people showed interest in the zoo trip that some participants had to make their own way to the zoo as the bus filled in no time. The group arrived at the zoo in the morning after which everybody split and went their own way. There was much to see and do that the time just flew and before the participants knew it, it was time to hop on the bus and return back to IWWA. On the way back, the bus was alive with talks about the day. The excitement slowly died out as the kids fell asleep.

On Wednesday the 6th of January, a large group of young girls were dressed and ready to go horse riding at the Scenic Hills Horse Riding Range. The girls waited impatiently outside IWWA until the bus arrived. Once it arrived, everybody made their way in. For some of the girls, this was the first time they had actually seen/rode a horse, while for others, it was second nature. After a quick introduction and instruction, the girls were able to ride the horses. Soon it was time for lunch. Everybody took out their food and had a group picnic filled with much talk and laughter. Before the horse riding was over, the girls were already talking about the next activity, the indoor rock climbing!

On the 13th of January another bus full of girls made their way to the St Peters Indoor Rock climbing in Unwins Bridge Road. The girls had much fun climbing and falling of those massive rocks. The rock climbing was the last of the paid-activities for this term. The final activity is the low-key sausage sizzle and relays that was held on the 20th of January in Olympic Park, free of charge for all to attend. That too was a great success alhamdulilah.

IWWA looks forward to seeing you in our next line of holiday activities so bring a friend along and have some fun!
